At this point, additional user input is required to continue lowering, which is indicated by a flashing light throughout the remainder of the descent. This mechanism helps prevent accidental crushing of objects beneath the bed and ensures the bed does not lower to a height that could cause strain or injury when exiting. The redesigned frame stabilizes the bed during height adjustments, preventing unwanted forward or backward movement. By replacing the traditional X-frame with two independent Y-shaped supports at the head and foot, the structure improves under-bed clearance for equipment such as patient lifts or trapeze bars while ensuring even weight distribution for enhanced long-term durability.
